These are just out of this world, Robin. My mom has been making them every Christmas for 30-40 years for baked goods department at church bazaar and for our family consumption, too. I think lots of folks will try this recipe. Great of you to share.

Yes, they are absolutely wonderful too. My MIL made them every Christmas, and with the mini colored marshmallows, they were so pretty too.

  • 1 half bag of mini colored marshmallows
  • 1 small bag of walnut pieces

Mix together melted chocolate, marshmallows and walnuts. Take a piece of wax paper and sprinkle it liberally with powdered sugar. Put one third of mixture on top of sugar and shape into a roll. Fold the wax paper around the roll, making sure powdered sugar is in between mixture and paper all over. Do the same to other two and put into the refrigerator. When chilled, cut into about half inch rounds

Thanks so much for these recipes! My recipe calls for crushed hard candy either to be mixed into the dough or to cut rounds out with a biscuit cutter and with a large drinking straw, cut out a few more rounds to put crushed candy into.

This is MUCH easier! (06/09/2008)

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag of colored marshmallows
  • 1 stick of margarine or butter

Directions

In a microwave safe large bowl, pour in chips and add one stick of butter. Microwave on high, approx five minutes. Your microwave temp. may vary. Take out and stir until smooth and shiny. Set aside until cool but not cold.

Fold in marshmallows. Pour out onto waxed paper or aluminum foil, I usually spray foil with non-stick spray. Form into a log and wrap up. Put in refrigerator til set. May also be frozen. When hard, take out, unwrap and slice.

Very yummy and quick!
