Why Does My Lunch Smell Horrible?

My dear, oh, so busy, daughter sent this to me this morning. She has made us grandparents to two of the cutest little boys in the world.

Jonny is three and a half, and Joey (the subject of the email) is 14 months.
"Some mornings, I have been known to walk into work with a binky in mypocket, a dirty bib in my purse, or I bring in the diaper bag instead of my purse, but this one takes the cake. I always pack my lunch in a Kroger bag and today was no different. I pulled into our parking garage at work and parked as usual. I fondled around the front passenger seat looking for my lunch and grabbed the bag, but wondered what that horrible smell was... it was Joey's dirty diaper! Thank goodness I discovered that before I came into the building!"

This is a riot! It reminded me of something that happened to me almost 50 years ago. I had 3 little stairstep boys... 1, 3, and 5.
On Sundays when my husband was working and couldn't help me get them ready for church I had a system whereby we dressed and had breakfast in stages. I always put on my stockings, shoes and makeup, then dressed the kids. The next to last step was to put on my dress and hat with purse, gloves and bible with kids books on the table by the door.

We had gone out the door and were standing on the back stoop when my eldest looked up and said "Mommy, are you going to church like that?" I was standing outside my house, baby on the hip, purse on the shoulder with no dress! Thank God it was summer otherwise he wouldn't have caught me.

Both of these are hilarious! I too, raised kids a long time ago when you got no help from the husband. Then he had the gall to suggest I was scatterbrained when I was the one who had to remember everything when we left for somewhere.
My husband always brought his lunch to work in a bread wrapper (we didn't have any money for a lunch bucket) and one morning, instead of picking up his lunch, picked up a whole loaf of bread. That is all he got that day for lunch was bread! Better than a dirty diaper though! LOL

Boy, that's one lunch you'll never forget! My best friend (we've been friends for almost 40 years) one time grabbed the wrong bag for her lunch when we were in high school.

She had picked up a bag of garbage her Mom had set on the kitchen counter. We still laugh about the time she opened her lunch bag to find potato peelings and coffee grounds!
