Spooky Sparkle Glassware

Put a bit of sparkle into your home this Halloween by transforming plain glassware into a stunning centrepiece or candle holder. All you need are some old tumblers, cocktail glasses or any other suitable glasses you have to hand, some glitter and lots of imagination. What's more you could even keep your sparkly tumblers once Halloween is over and adapt them for the holiday season in December.

Approximate Time: 20 minutes plus drying time

Supplies:

• glass items to decorate
• non-toxic glue
• a brush or cotton bud
• glitter
• beads, sequins, glass nuggets
• fun embellishments: plastic spiders, etc.

Instructions:

Wash and dry your glass item. Use a small brush or cotton bud to apply glue to the outside of the glass in a design of your choice.

Sprinkle glitter over the glue and leave to dry thoroughly.

Glue beads, sequins, etc. to the outside of your glass to finish.

Group together several tumblers as a centrepiece for your Halloween dinner table.

Alternatively, place beads or glass nuggets inside your glass and a length of wick 1.5 inch/4 cm longer than the container. Pour on some heated gel wax to make a special candleholder for a spooky night.
