Short Hair Cut for a Female?

How should I cut my hair? I really need short hair. I am a female so it can be hard.

I had the "A line" hair style for a while and LOVED it... that's where the back is cut really short and kind of tapered from the crown down and the front is left a little longer. If I needed to, I could still pull the front up to get it out of my face, or pull that hair over my ears. I have six kids, so I dont always get a shower every day and simply dont have time to curl/style my hair every day. Anyways, my hair has now grown out of the style and I really need to get back to the salon! :)

It depends on so many factors - your hair type - the shape of your face and so on. If you have curly hair, you can get it cut in a gamine style and just fluff it with your fingers - but that wouldn't work if your hair is fair and would have a different effect if straight. There is SO much information on the internet nowadays about hair styling - I recommend that you do some research before cutting it all off - you might even splurge on a really good haircutter for the first time to get a good style - Ask around to see who in your area is a good cutter/stylist...

5. I layer my own hair. A hairstylist explained the basic
concept to me and I was amazed at how simple it was. I have

been cutting and layering my own hair for at least two years
now! To layer your hair, when you hair is very wet (you don't
want it dripping), turn your head upside down and brush all
your hair in front of your face. Brush it straight and make
sure to get all of your hair. Starting on one end, cut about
an inch or so in a straight line (do this in sections). Take
another section and align it with the previous section (the
one you already cut so that you're cutting in a straight
line). Keep doing this all around. And keep brushing the hair
periodically to ensure you are cutting a straight line. Once
you are done, flip your hair back and brush out. You will see
that the hair falls in graduated layers from the top to the
bottom. You will notice that the overall length of your hair
is almost not affected, but now you have some great layers! I
have cut my hair like this for the past two years, and I

always get compliments on my beautiful layers! I always look
like I just left the hair salon. Just remember to use a
sharpened pair of scissors to get a clean cut.

I have had really short hair for a few years(spiked w/gel) -have a small frame and tiny facial features (I am 50)
I am now trying to grow it out. Consider that you'll look like a rag-a-muffin during the growing out stages and if you can handle that-go ahead and cut it. I loved my short "do" but growing out is a PAIN!

Why not stop in at a salon and peruse the hair books. You can find how to get your hair cut according to your face shape.

Find a picture and stick to it, don't change it. Remember if it comes out wrong the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is 2 weeks, good luck!

My mom use to have it cut short on top with it permed or spiked and buzzed back and sides from and love it. Try this site at t.lefaivre.free.fr/
