Use Old iPhone as iPod Touch

Reuse a previous generation iPhone that no longer has cell phone service as an iPod touch. Do not throw it away! It is still able to connect to WiFi, download apps, play music, take pictures, and do just about everything that an iPod touch can do.

For about $10 per month you could even download the app Line2 (http://www.line2.com/) which would enable you to place and receive calls and texts anywhere that has a WiFi connection. For most people that is everywhere! This may even be a cheaper cell phone or iPod touch option for a student.

I would be curious to hear from people who have used this service.
