Ideas for Different Themes for Combo Rooms?

While it is nice to have separate themes to showcase all of your collections and interests it sometimes makes combo rooms look really small and choppy. Spaces like that tend to look best if they flow together in one continuous movement instead of starting and stopping with each new theme. One way to have your separate themes and still allow the rooms to flow is to carry your colors from area to area. Make sure that the colors you choose in the kitchen and dining go well with the browns and greens you have chosen for the living room.

Perhaps you could pull out more of the brown in say, the kitchen, and more green into the dining. If you choose to do a completely different color at least brown and green are neutral enough to add another color. Remember that any good designer would tell you that at the end of the day it is YOUR house and no one can decide what will work best and make you happy except for you. Go with what you love and you will be happy. Good luck!

My idea is to building folding room dividers out of panels. On one side you can paint it to look like castle walls and even have a dragon peeking in. On the other you can paint it with the these of whatever you're decorating your kitchen in. As the previous poster said, however, the key to making your room look larger is making them flow into each other so if you don't have the divider then you will need to make sure the colors compliment each other and that it doesn't look choppy or silly together.

Mirrored walls also help a room look larger. So even if you put up the room divider then if you put mirrored tiles on the other side it would make it look like the castle walls were on both sides of the room.
