Add a Slice of Bread to Fresh Baked Cookies

While living in Denver, I discovered that fresh baked cookies (even in a zip-locked bag) dried out quickly. By adding a slice of bread, the cookies stayed moist. Just change the bread when the slice dries out.

I do this all the time and it really works. It works for brownies too.

Thanks for info, Pam. When I get around to making Christmas cookies, I will put a slice of bread in my zip-lock bag to keep them fresh. Never thought of doing that with cookies.

Just don't do it with sandwich cookies such as Oreos, like I did. It makes them soft too. My mistake!
