Regular honey found on the grocery store shelves won't act as an antiseptic. It must be RAW, unheated and unfiltered honey. And even superior to just plain raw honey is Manuka honey. This honey has strong antiseptic properties. It is gathered in just a 3 square mile area of New Zealand and is all organic. It is expensive, but well worth the money. Placing Manuka honey on a fresh surgical scar, will heal it faster and the scar will be smaller.
Did you know if a bee eats processed cooked honey it will die. Yet it lives on raw honey. This lesson has taught me to only buy raw uncooked and unfiltered honey.
