I heard that rubbing the bites with moistened bar soap relieves the itch from mosquito bites. Why not try it for flea bites?

1) First of all get rid of the fleas in the home! (simply search "fleas" here on ThriftyFun for how to)

2) Citronella anti-bug lotion: You can stop them from biting with a citronella lotion. Simply buy citronella oil & unscented lotion & add about half a teaspoon to 4 - 8 ounces of the oil to the lotion & shake well. *Never put this on when skin is wet from bathing or swimming, always wait 1 hour after bathing or skin will turn red & feel hot, like it's "burning".

3) To stop itching after big bit you can take Benadryl (antihistamine)... For instant relief, you can dab a tiny drop of Ammonia (non-sudsy) on the bite, or you can use Cortisone or Lanocaine or any "numbing" lotion. All of these work.

Straight white vinegar is great for bites. Rub in well & let dry. You can use it as often as you need. It also dries up the bite & inflammation.

Rub the gel from an aloe vera plant on the bites. That will take away the itch almost instantly! Everyone should have at least one aloe vera plant. It's been used for thousands of years for burns, bites and any skin problem.

My vet once told me that it contains a topical anesthetic, a cortisone-like substance and an antibiotic. Great stuff!
