Please help me decorate my grandson's bedroom. I am looking for a tool theme. I would like to find some coloring book pictures of carpenters tools to cut out, decorate and possibly laminate or something. Any ideas?

There are free, printable coloring pages online. You can also check with teachers' supply stores. Check the children's book section of your local Walmart or Target. There are all sorts of themed coloring books.
I just noticed something. My DH has been doing a lot of remodeling recently and this morning I noticed a hammer lying on a bookcase. It occurred to me that you could trace some tools on poster board, color and laminate them and voila!
two ideas come to mind. Crayola sellers fabric crayons and they are for drawing on fabric then just iron over the picture (put a piece of white paoer over your design first before you iron heat it) two ways to do it are draw your picture by hand on paper , flip your paper on to your fabric (light colored fabric works best like white, blue jean, pastels etc) then just heat set with dry iron no steam. Or the way I perfer to do is just drwa on to your fabric cover with paper and heat set with iron. The picture does not wash off and is so cute. The fabric crayons are sold in the same isle at walmart as other crayola products and cost $1.69 keep them from kids you will want you use them on other projects it is fun and addictive. If you hang the can on the wall horizontally (seeing into the bucket by eyes view) you can use the handle that will droop from the can as a coat holder, towel holder umbreella holder etc.
second idea, lowes sells new empty paintcan with lids silver in color, take a piece of 4x6 wood plank and remove the lids, screw the cans onto the wood board by screwing them in place down into the bottom center can. Then place your board on the wall either vertically or horizontally then add things inside like, toys, stuufed animals, socks, etc. Take the lids and paint on names of your children or phrases like We can do it! Gitter Done! Or stencil on pictures of tools then use craft paint to fillin. Hang them on the wall in any manner for picture themes for your tool theme room.You can even decopouge your kids photos on to the lids front.
Is he too old for Bob The Builder? That's a popular cartoon for kids.
I am the daughter of a tool man, and have a tool drawer in my room as my dresser. You might be able to pick one up cheap at Home Depot or Walmart or through freecycle.
If you could get a hold of an overhead projector, you could use it to enlarge pictures you print on the internet. Your local public schools would probably let you come to the school and borrow one, after all, you are a taxpayer. But here is the process. You need to get some transparency paper for copiers, you can get it at walmart.
How about hanging a sheet of pegboard on the wall. But first lay some real tools on it and draw an outline around them and you can colour/paint those shapes if you like. If there was a table, it could be used as a 'pretend' workbench and you could hang the pegboard above it. A few small plastic toolboxes or empty paintcans would be good to keep on top of the table for storing crayons/pencils etc..

I don't know how you feel about this one but it just occured to me and I got excited.
I am not sure what age he is but you decide if it fits his age.
For his tool hanger on door or where ever... you can hang these items
1. tool belt loaded with basic handy man tools
2. make a tool apron - Scripted Tool Man (his name) Use black fabric or grey.
3. on a board mount a old non working drill - script (burnt into the wood) above it these words "Armed and Ready" below that "Everyone' Needs a Handiman Including Mom"
4. make a handiman business card and laminate it or seal it to a wood placque with cute handi man trim and nicely stained - besure this name and number is on it.
5. take a bookcase and line it with handiman manuels and etc.
6. get a lamp kit AND a second hand hammer (old fashion one) get a wooden oval piece of wood for the base, make a hammer handle for the pole for the lamp, have the wooden hammer hollowed out and run the wires through it to the top where the hammer arm is attached to the hammer head and mount the fixture and shade to that hammer head may take a little welding. (this will be a really cool gift and will likely remain in his family forever). This idea will take some work but will be awesome.
7. get a tool box and fix it up for him to put whatever he wants in it not necessarily tools
8. curtains - there maybe some fabric out there that has handiman tools and etc. on it.
9. work bench for a desk
10. wall covering - small peg board and hooks let him decide what to put there
