Reuse Ties From Packaging

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 170 Posts

Sometimes when buying a packaged item, especially toys, plastic cable/wire ties are used. While these can be annoying to remove, they can be reused.

When you cut them off, cut near the end where the plastic tie inserts into the "lock". Pull the small piece through to clear out the"lock" and it now ready to reuse. I like the fact there are so many different sizes that I can use for whenever they're needed. I keep them in a clear plastic bag for easy access.

Use the "twist ties" from kids toys for holding together wires, closing bags, etc.

Great idea! After all, we go through all the work to take the toy out of the packaging, might as well get "paid" by it! And most of the time, the ties are a better "quality" then bread ties and garbage bag ties. With the holidays approaching, get ready to stock up for the next year on twist ties! :) (10/24/2004)
