Making a Picture Frame?

How do I fix a picture frame that just has the glass and the stand? It has no frame. That part broke and it has a gold tinned picture cutout for a place to put the pictures.

Having worked in a framing department, let me tell you, it would be so much work, and equipment as well, not worth it. HOWEVER, do not despair. If it had the stand, it was factory made, and comes in a standard size, like 5x7 or 8x10, right? The stands don't come on large frames. Just measure the glass, and that's the size frame you are looking for, and start going to garage sales, bringing a measuring tape with you. You measure the inside measurements of the frame, from the back.

When you find a frame that takes a slide in stand, the size you need, and style you like, take it home [at garage sales, usually $1-3] and put in glass, slide in stand in back, and polish glass..

You can also look for a stand frame, new, but there are so many frames for sale at garage sales, it hardly seems worth buying new. I was at a garage sale today and they must have had 15 frames of different sizes.

Okay, that sounds like a great idea, never thought of that, thanks!
