that's a good idea ! Do you mean the kind that have suction cups?
Wax paper is inexpensive so I bought some so it lets the light in but keeps the heat out.

Why rig that? Sun Shades are not terrible expensive, especially indoor shades. They'll look much nicer.
www.thehis.com/solarus_sun_shades_overview.html is a company in San Diego that does them.
