Raising Neckline on Tank Top Blouse?

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 364 Posts

I have some that have become a tad too low cut. I tried to raise the neckline by wearing a dicky (traps too much heat), adding lace around the neckline looked funny.

instead of adding the lace around the complete neckline why not just add it to the cleavage part. much liked you'd see in the shirts that have the two layered look. all you'd need to do is cut a tringle shape for v-necklines or a half circle shape cut straight across for round necklines or a long rectangle shape for square necklines. just use cordinating fabrics in colors and fabric types like soft pollar fleece or knit or even the lace fabric. lay the choice of shaped fabric swatch (edges hand or machine hemmed) under the neckline to your satisfaction of placement then tack it or sew it around. could even use heat bond tape to put on. just an idea. hope that helped.

You could try flipping it and wearing the high part in the front.

If the back is also somewhat low you could possibly just turn the top inside out and sew a new shoulder seam an inch or more down from the original seam. Turn it right side out and see if that helps.

If it does, cut off the excess "strap" and finish the raw edges. Realize that this will also make the length of the tank top shorter, if that would be a concern.

Hi, just wanted to say, I am from your neck of the woods in far north Dallas.
I have seen a lot of gals wearing camisoles under all sorts of tops. They have spaghetti straps so they should not make you feel warm. It is a good look for any age.

Layering is the solution. Wear two tank tops at the same time so the one below can peek out.

Good luck
