Cherry Nut Bread

Ingredients:

• 2 cups flour
• 1 1/2 tsp. double acting baking powder
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 4 Tbsp. butter, melted
• 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, chopped

• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 3/4 cup buttermilk
• 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
• 1/2 cup nut meat, chopped

Directions:

Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt together. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with liquid to the creamed mixture. Add nuts meats and cherries. Pour into greased bread pan and bake 50-60 minutes at 325 degrees F.
