Pretzel-Maple Chicken

My family eats chicken often (on sale a lot) and I always try new ways to make it. This is one chicken dish I make that is a little different and goes well with any side dish.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 3/4 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • oil (to fry coated chicken)

Directions:

Flatten chicken to desired thickness. In a bowl, whisk together egg and maple syrup. Place crushed pretzels in a separate shallow dish. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then coat with pretzels.

Heat oil over medium heat in a large frying pan. Cook chicken on each side 5-7 minutes or until juices run clear.

Note: I do not flatten chicken breasts but rather slice them horizontally in half. This saves me time and is less messy.

We also eat chicken a lot and since my younger dd's favorite snack are pretzels I think this would be a great main dish for my family-it looks yummy!
