Chicken Casserole with White Sauce?

My mother used to make a casserole with chicken breast, cubed, ham, peas, noodles and some type of white sauce. This is from my child-hood memory, so I may have left something out.

It was always the first to go at church dinners. Unfortunately I never got the recipe and have been unable to duplicate it.

sounds like its alfredo sauce, which was used years ago too they just had no particular name for it then like now.Alfredo sauce is simply flour & milk mixed to get a thin white (gravey type) sauce.

No it was not made w/Alfredo Sauce Seamstress because a
TRUE Alfredo sauce contains no flour but butter, cream &
parmesan cheese.

It sounds like this recipe is one for Chicken ala King

which you can find at www.cooks.com

My mother also made this for church suppers & it, too, was
the first to go as noone ever seemed to bring any meat
dishes.

My mom made a casserole after Thanksgiving that used up leftover turkey (but you could use chicken or ham). She added peas, carrots and potatoes in a white sauce (which was a thin "gravy") and topped off the whole thing with canned biscuits, then baked it in the oven.

It is still one of my favorite dishes.

I use cream of chicken soup in mine. It gives it a nice "sauce".
