Flaws Showing Through Paint?

How can I fix a scratched wall that I have already painted with semi-gloss paint and every flaw is showing through?

Scratches are tough and shiny paint shows up everything. If they aren't significant, then using a flat paint might work. Otherwise I would float some wall-resurfacer over them, sand to smooth and repaint, or paint it with a textured paint. There are some really nice texturing products out now that look great.

The previous idea is great. But, according to my husband who's a professional decorative painter, you should apply some insulant paint after sanding the wall and before repainting it. That way, what's behind shouldn't show through the new coat of paint. Hope this helps you.
