Refurbishing an Old Wicker Crib?

I have a 44 year old wicker crib which is being called into service again. However, it's a bit creaky and brittle. Any suggestions please?

I would have to suggest not using a crib that old for an infant, you have no idea what kind of paint was used, or anything. Also, wicker can harbor bacteria and could have splinters.

Maybe a new crib? Or a borrowed one if it's a short term thing?
