Our Hydrangea Bush is beautiful this year, considering all of the horrific storms it went through. One year a rain and wind storm damaged it, and the next a bad ice storm damaged it once again!

But, this year, our 5 year old Blue Bush is truly awesome. We think it's the prettiest in the neighborhood.

We called them "Snowball Bushes" as kids.

These are part of a healing series that I have made in my flower gardens. A chronic illness has me in pain more than I would like most days. My flowers make me happy and keep me looking forward to the next day and the next bloom.

Carrie, I have arthritis and have a lot of pain as well and like you, my garden inspires me to get out and do what I can and I do believe the flowers are a gift from God to makes us feel better. Take care and enjoy the gift. I do. (05/29/2010)

Carrie, Your flowers are so very pretty! I too, live in a lot of pain (real bad neck). Pain is a bad thing, isn't it? I also plant flowers, isn't it so nice to watch all the things that you plant grow? Keep up the good work! (05/30/2010)

Hydranga, 2 years old. Just huge and so pretty with the pale pink dot centers.

That one looks great. We have a pink one that has done well this year, despite the weird weather in the Midwest. I've been growing new ones from stems and so far 3 have rooted!

We're also working on a butterfly garden-- just bought 3 butterfly bushes on sale at our local nursery ($7 each, how can you go wrong?). Here's info I found on that:
