We are thinking of installing carpet tiles in a bedroom. Has anyone done this, and are you satisfied with them. Do they stay in place, what about vacuuming over them. Anything you do or don't like about them.

Peel and stick floor tiles will separate from each other after a while - so I would expect the carpet tiles to do the same.
Why don't you buy a few and use them as a trial? Stick to a board, vacuum and spill water on them. Stamp your feet on them by the front door. See how much abuse they take.

I had small ones the size of tiles in my bedroom several years ago. They were great. Easy to keep up, so much easier to replace than tile, linoleum or regular carpet. And they can be a terrific value.
It works well but don't stick them down. It can make a real mess if you have to take them up. Also, if they are laid loose, butt them snugly, and if one gets ruined, they are easy to replace.
We had carpet tiles installed in a large basement and they were great. We purchased several extra boxes of tiles since the kids would be playing down there and we had large crawfish parties but we never replaced a single one.
We had a pressure sensitive adhesive put down and you could raise the tile with a car key to pry one up and put it right back down. Carpet tiles are used in most airports, that's how they get those cool borders and change colors without having seams.
These tiles are not as soft and cushy as regular carpet because they don't have extra carpet pad under them. So choose a tile that has alittle pad or the floor will be really hard. Vacuums like a dream too. We had zero problems and lived there 5 years.
