First you scrape off as much wax as you can - then you iron it with a hot iron, using a pressing cloth or paper toweling to get up as much as the grease left there as possible - and THEN take out the remaining grease spot with some spot remover - I like K2R with powder, if you can find it.

Be careful using heat on the cushion, it may not be safe.

First I'd freeze the wax with ice in a plastic bag to get the wax hard. Once hard, pry it loose...it should crumble if cold enough. If residue is left behind, test the iron method on an inconspicuous area first, as ironing the material might damage the cushion further and better to have a slight grease stain than a huge burn mark on a cushion. I recommend using a brown paper grocery bag instead of a paper towel to absorb the left over wax or grease.

It will absorb better and not be susseptible to damage from heat from the iron. If you'd rather consult professionals, carpet cleaners who are used to removing stains and wax from carpets can usually also get it out of furniture and cushions just as easily and could at least give you an estimate or advise. Good luck.

To remove the candle wax from the pew upholstery, you must ice the candle wax. Apply the ice to the candle wax surface until it hardens. Then, scrape the candlewax off from the church pew cushions. Find more information on it here www.pewupholsteryinc.com
