Can Fortekor Be Prescribed for Heart Aliments in Cats?

Does anybody know of a reason why my cat, Mulder, has been prescribed Fortekor (benezepril hydrochloride), supposedly for his heart? All the information that I can find says that it is prescribed for chronic renal failure in cats. He was tested for renal failure and had no signs. He does have an overactive thyroid for which he takes Felimazole.

I would be truly grateful for any light that anyone may be able to shed on this.
