My husband and I are looking to paint our kitchen, but are having a difficult time choosing a color. Our kitchen floor is green tile. Our cabinets are bright white, and one wall from the living room that extends into the kitchen is a tan color. What color would go well with this scheme?

Peach or a lighter shade of the green tile or the tan wall would tie it all together.
They have alot of nice wall paper out, have you thought of using wall paper with maybe a floral theme.
I like sparkling white in a kitchen; then go with color accents in your accessories. You didn't say if the floor is dark or light green. If the white sounds too contrasting with the green flooring, take a cue from nature and envision a green field with blue sky (your walls), and the tan hills (the living room wall), and you can't go wrong : continue the beige (sand, almond, etc) to mid level, then above to ceiling a complementary blue.
After further consideration, I think white walls and cabinets, with a trim band of medium blue along the top of the wall would look great. - Good luck. Mary
Well your in luck!Tan is such a easy color to work since it is a neutral color.And white well there are so many possiblities for it.We have a open kitchen with a bar surrounding it.We are going to paint both this summer.Going with a light brown in the living room we are going to paint the one wall which goes into the kitchen the color of the living room.Then the kitchen will be blue.My cabinet's are oak I love oak but I can't paint it so I will have to find somthing to do.I do have some green in the kitchen not much but I will use that as a accent color so I will have three color's.These day's everything goes.I do not know how much money you have or how talented you are but there are tons of thing's to do so here goes.First you can paint your walls a medium green,then add a small molding around your room.Makeing the molding and the celing a lighter green.The doors can be painted blue A light blue,then if you have energy and you can paint some beautifull flower's maybe a rose color or somthing a flower you love, any kind with the same green you used for the wall's as the leaves for your flower.If you want paint the wall in the kitchen that comes in from the living room with the blue and paint flower's one or two here or there.It would really be unigue.However you can by stencils,or buy flower's you just peel off and put on the wall's they even have quotation's you can buy with the Quotation's all ready to go. The one place I like is wallwords.com.Or go with blue wall's and auqua's and blues and of course some green so you can make the green stand out in your flooring.Or paint your cupboards a darker green and the ceiling a darker green to match,Just have fun,a light peach with green leaves on the wall and cream colored cabinet's would be a beautifull color,not to mention it would also go really well with your living room wall'sGo to Barn's and Nobles have a Italian soda grab some decorating book's first set down and have fun.Also you can find magazines there,and at the grocery and pharmecy's to help.They have so many different painting technique's out there you could have a ball!!Well I could go on but have fun I hope I did not boggle your mined.You can even take classes on special effect's at Home Depot or Lowes who know's.But best of luck take care have fun.If you have a artist in the family put them to work.You could even leave them white adding some decal's if you do not have the time.So much to do so little time.Whatever you chose to do you know when you get done your kitchen will have it's spring cleaning done and look lovely.LOL dar
I would simply replace the hardware handles to match the floor tile and buy some kitchen rugs to match the tan. As for the walls, go to the local paint store and look for the color cards that match both the living room wall and the floor.
