Tips For Expecting Moms

Don't waste good money on diaper genie's and special diaper disposal systems. Start saving the plastic bags that newspapers come in and when you have a stinky diaper, put it in the newspaper bag, tie a knot and put it right in the regular trash. Make sure to carry some in the diaper bag also for when you are out.

First Aid Kit for Diaper Bag

To make a first aid kit for your baby's diaper bag, take a cleaned out peanut butter jar, then put your tylenol, band aids, bottle of mommy aspirin, bee sting pen, alcohol pads, etc. inside. This is quick to locate and keeps the bag neater looking. By Melanie

What Does Baby Really Need?

When it comes to what you "must have" for your new baby, everyone has an opinion. If you don't think so, just ask around. Feeding My Toddler

My toddler eats a lot of the same foods we eat but when it comes to peaches, apples, sandwiches, meats, and some veggies, they are still to tough or too much for her to chew. Instead of buying store bought veggie chunks, fruit chunks, and meat sticks that are soft, we slice whatever we are having, then we take a pizza cutter and cut it into toddler bite size pieces. Looking For Pattern For Baby Hi-Top Sneakers

I am desperately looking for an Annie's Attic pattern (approx 1983) for baby hi-top sneakers. The sole is white, tongue is red, sides are navy & green, trimmed in yellow. There are a couple other patterns in the book. I had it and I think during our hurricane cleanup it got thrown away. Many thanks, Cindy from Florida

Antacid Liquids for Diaper Rash

When my son gets a diaper rash (usually from foods that contain more acid than he can tolerate) instead of using the high priced ointments that don't work on the burning feeling, I use liquid malox or mylanta on his bottom. As soon as I apply that, he feels instant relief. By Green18chick

Choking Hazards For Babies

Everything that ends up in baby's hands, ends up in baby's mouth. I was shocked one day to find my 8 month old daughter had pulled a button off the clothes she was wearing. She could have very easily choked had she swallowed it. To prevent this from happening again, I inspected her clothing to make sure all buttons were sewed on securely. I then put a small drop of super glue on the back side of the button threads (on the inside of her clothing) to permanently secure the button. This may not be a cost-saving measure, but it could very well be a life-saving one! By Leann D
