Purse Safety Tips While Shopping
This guide is about purse safety tips while shopping. Keeping your purse secure when shopping can be a challenge.
Pay Attention When Using Cell Phone
Pay attention, this is going to be good. That's it, really. If you pay attention; to where you are, who you're with, and what you're doing; things will be good for you and the people around you.
Don't (pardon the pun) blindly follow your GPS, especially if you're traveling in remote areas. A Canadian couple, Albert and Rita Chretien, learned that lesson the hard way.
Hooking Your Purse to the Cart
With all the purses snatched each year from grocery carts, here is a hint. You know the straps used to hold in children, use them to hold your purse in, so they have to take the buggy too instead of just your purse.
For protection at home, especially if you live alone. Check the distance from different areas in the house where the panic button on the car remote will set off the car alarm.
Warning: Unplug Cords When Not in Use
I look around the house or other peoples houses I go to and see phone charger cords, iPod cords, CD cords, xBox cords, and the such. Looks innocent enough right? Wrong! Most times people just unplug their appliances and go.
For a make-it yourself fire retardant mixture, mix 7 oz. Borax, 3 oz. boric acid, and 2 qts. warm water. Stir to dissolve completely. Either dip the fabric in the mixture or spray on to thoroughly saturate the material until it drips.
I prefer using a drive up ATM machine because I have a car full of kids and I feel safer. Even though I'm in a car, I can never be too safe. I keep my doors locked. If there is a car in front of me and I am waiting, I also keep my windows up.
Using Craigslist and Freecycle Safely
Many people are doing a lot of business on sites such as Craigslist and Freecycle, myself included. This is a great way to get or give items and meet new people, but it has also been used by the wrong people as a means to rob or attack others.
