Why Does Food Giant No Longer Take Coupons?
I recently saw where several people said they were unable to use coupons at the dollar stores. I use coupons all the time at Family Dollar, Dollar General and Dollar Tree and have had no problems at all. Now for some reason Food Giant does not accept computer coupons and has no explainable reason as to why. Does anyone know why?

Does anyone know if you have to be a non-profit organization to receive/buy food from your local food bank? Or can anyone buy from them? Such as a large family (9) with an annual income of $40,000 qualify?
Finding Expired Coupons to Use at the Commissary
I am living overseas, my husband is in the military. I would like to find some sources of expired coupons. We can use them in our commissary for 6 months after they expire. It is expensive here and need all the help we can get. Thanks!
Even when I go to the dollar store, (or should I say, especially when I go to the dollar store) I make sure I count the items in my basket to make sure I am within my budgeted amount.

Buy Seasonal Toys on Clearance
Don't you hate paying the crazy prices they charge for kids toys - and doesn't it seem like the only ones that go on sale are the ones that are really expensive to begin with?
Buy Store Brands For Big Savings
When grocery shopping, watch for store brands. They're usually always cheaper than national brands. On a recent grocery shopping trip, in the store sales flyer, I spied a name brand saltine crackers on sale 2 for $4.00.
Suggestions For an HDTV for a Kitchen
My very old kitchen 13 1/2 inch TV set is doing a going...going... almost gone. Thought I'd replace it with a small size HDTV.
It seems like our grocery bill (family of 2) is growing out of control. We shop off a list and get only what is needed, generic mostly, and also split our time between the surplus store, farm market, discount stores and our regular grocery.
The Winter White Sale is a phrase most people have heard, but rare is the person who truly understands it. Linens appear on sale throughout the year, but January often touts the label of White Sale month. Why? The concept started in 1878 with John Wannamaker, Philadelphia department store mogul.
Tips For Ebay Auctions. Here's an EBay tip - Watch the end of the sale. Just heard from an antique dealer that sometimes the bids go way up at the end. Also, check on currency and shipping rates to factor in the cost.
Shopping with a Pal. When going shopping anywhere, take a pal. Let them in on what you're looking for, and likewise. . .
Start A Coupon Exchange. When you are close friends with other neighbors, and you have different needs, exchange coupons! E.g., 1 neighbor has 3 cats. Next door has 2 adult dogs. 1 has a newborn infant, and 1 is past the "Change" . . .
Watch for False Advertising. Try to look at your receipt when you buy big-ticket items like a flat screen T.V. My husband was alert enough to see that Best Buy advertised a high definition T.V. from Sony with higher pixels or some other technical term but were selling an older version.
Organizing Rainchecks and Coupons with a Photo Album

Maintain a notepad with sale items you need so it's handy when you go shopping.
Watch Those Wholesale Club Prices
While wholesale clubs (bargain bulk warehouses like Sam's Club, Costco and BJ's) can be full of savings, the shopper must be extra savvy while shopping in them.
Using Coupons Before They Expire
When using coupons, I organize them by month not the item. For instance, all my January coupons are in the December area of a coupon saver and my February Coupons are in the January, March coupons are in February, etc...
Teaching Children the Value of a Dollar
In a time when materialism is at a high, the task of teaching children the value of a dollar becomes difficult. Someone recently told me, "What you teach your children in the first ten years of their lives is what molds them into the people they become." I've given this a great deal of thought, and I've decided that I want my son to be a man who understands the value of the things he owns.
The scenario is familiar. At the check out counter of the local department store, the clerk asks if you would like to apply for the store's credit card. As a reward for signing, you receive an instant discount in the amount of 10% or even 15%. Do you sign on? Before you do, think it over.
