Two weeks ago, I discovered that my rear windshield washer on my 2016 Chevy Tahoe was not spraying. I assumed the reservoir for the rear pump was out, then I discovered that there was no rear reservoir.

Today on my way home from work, I discovered that the front sprayer was not spraying. The reservoir is full of fluid and I can hear the motor working. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have 2 reservoirs? I have 2 up front, one is for the rear. Look and see if the place where it comes out is clogged.

I have had it be clogged before. If you can hear the motor running, I doubt it would be a fuse.

My Tahoe did this as well. My hoses came loose and had to be reattached a few times (both seem to do it at the same time for some reason!)

I have a 1989 240 DL Volvo wagon. The washer fluid does not spray. I have changed the fuse, filled the washer fluid tank, and have tentatively poked the nozzles with a needle.

Still nothing. Anyone with any ideas?

My wife ran the washer fluid tank dry on her 2008 Ford Escape and informed me a week or two later. I filled the tank and nothing but a few sprinkles would come out of the sprayers every 5 or 10 seconds. I could hear the motors so knew it wasn't the motors. I traced where the hose hooked up at the bottom of the tank and unplugged it.

There is a small screen filter between the hose and tank that had coagulated washer fluid of some sort. Used a toothbrush to clean the screen and hooked it back up. Worked instantly. Good luck.

Mine is a 2008 Explorer. I recently bought it used and thought the res was empty when I tried it cause I could here the motor. Bought some washer fluid and topped it off which it only took a cups worth so it was full. All I would get after that was a slight dribble from the nozzle so I tried unclogging them(typically gets clogged with dirt/grim), they were clean. Went to the hoses and blew through them, same. Pulled the wheel well and pulled the motor, it looked fine so had my buddy come over to press the washer button to verify the impeller was spinning, no issues. I was clueless from there but noticed none of the washer fluid came out when I pulled the pump.

So I got on the web and started looking. Tons of posts pointing to pumps and switches but I had already confirmed all that was good until I found this post. What I thought was a rubber grommet is the screen you mention. Went back out and pulled the "grommet" and sure enough that was covered in some greenish clear coagulated slime blocking the flow. blew through it backwards and wiped it off. Good as new!! Thanks a bunch! Wish I would've taken a pic to post here.

My windshield washers have just recently stopped working. The wipers work fine, but no water comes out. I know there is plenty of fluid in the receptacle because I've had it checked. Does anyone have a simple solution I can try before taking my car to repair shop? I know nothing about cars other than they go frontwards and backwards.

There are several thoughts that come to mind.
1. The holes that spray water on the win shield are clogged.
2. There may be a tear to the hose some where.

3. The hose has separrated from the water canster or from the spray nozzle.

Try using a pin to clear the holes in the spray head.
You may have to take some pieces apart to check on the entire length of the hose and connections.

Same thing happened to me last week. It turned out to be the switch at the end of the wiper arm.

My 2007 SY Territory washer system won't work. I have checked the fuse and checked the water reservoir and made sure it is full. I also checked that all the hoses are not blocked, yet it still won't spray. I use to hear a noise, like a small motor, when it worked before so could this be the problem as I don't hear any noise now when I try to spray the windscreen?

Please help I need to fix this and can't afford to take to an electrician or mechanic. Thanks.

The motor to the pump that sprays the water is bad. You will either need to buy a new one and have someone help you install it or have the garage install it for you.

This is common and the pumps do go bad from time to time.

I have a 2008 Ford Edge and both of the front washers will not spray, but the back one will. Does anyone know why this would happen or what I need to do to fix it?

It's possible they're clogged with dust/dirt (happens frequently here in the desert). Try inserting the sharp end of a needle or small safety pin into the hole of each. Wiggle the needle/pin very gently, wipe away any debris, and then try spraying again.

If you wiggle the needle/pin too hard, you could change the direction of the spray or possibly break it.

My windshield washer fluid is not spraying on the windshield, but puddling out on the ground. It is not a leak, but when I push the button in the car to spray you hear the pump and then see the fluid on the ground under the car.

Go to a parts store. Ask if they can go outside to help figure out what hose is leaking. This is an easy fix. Pull the hose off. Match up the length of old hose to a new piece. Install new piece. If you have a long enough old piece of hose you could find the hole, cut the hose and put a splice to join the two pieces of hose together. The parts store will help you. Don't be afraid to ask :)
