Hand Sanitizer to Clean Book Covers

I use the library extensively and love to read. I have noticed that the books looked dirty. I can imagine all the people handling them, no wonder they are dirty. So, I grabbed my hand sanitizer and squirted it on the library books, took a paper towel and rubbed it in. I was amazed at the amount of dirt that came off those books. Now every time I get books, I use hand sanitizer on them before reading. This kills germs and makes the book covers shine like new. Happy reading.

Use Hand Sanitizer to Clean Glasses

One of the best products I've found to completely clean the lenses on eyeglasses is hand sanitizer. I've tried many glass cleaning products and have always dealt with residue from hair spray or other smears. I rub a small amount of hand sanitizer on both sides of the lens and wipe thoroughly with a paper towel. The glass is perfectly clean.

Editor's Note: It is always best to ask your ophthalmologist what the best cleaning agent to use on your glasses is. Many people don't suggest the use of paper towels.

Many Uses For Hand Sanitizer

I have found so many uses for plain old hand sanitizer. The cheaper, the better. The uses are as follows:

  • To remove old paint from brushes.
  • As a blending medium for paint (works great).
  • Removes mistakes from painted surface.
  • Removes marker mistakes.
  • Cleans and shines glass and mirrors.
  • Removes hair spray residue from bathroom surfaces.
  • A great stain remover if you were a Messy Marvin while eating out (not a set in stain from clothing).

I hope these tips are helpful to you.

Clean Art Brushes With Hand Sanitizer

I use acrylic paints for my yard art projects, and cleaning my brushes is an important step. I have found that if I squirt a little hand sanitizer into the palm of my hand, and work it into the bristles, it does an excellent job of removing the paint trapped in the brush.

Use a smooth back and forth swabbing motion, gently. If you use a circular motion it may damage the bristles. Repeat this procedure until you no longer see any paint residue in your hand. Rinse and reshape the bristles and let dry.

The hand sanitizer also makes removing paint from your hands much easier. I buy cheap hand sanitizer from the $1.00 store.

Hand Sanitizer Gel on White Boards

When your white boards (dry-erase boards) get dull and need a really thorough cleaning, squirt some of the 60% + alcohol hand-sanitizer gel onto a washcloth or rag and wipe away. I tried this out of desperation and it worked! Sanitizer gel also works on mirrors and windows, but NOT on electronics screens. The alcohol cuts through the ink but doesn't evaporate as fast as the liquid spray-on products; it also doesn't smell as bad!

Hand Sanitizer For All Purpose Cleaning

I have discovered an amazing new cleaning product. It cleans that awful overspray hair spray in the bathroom that gets everywhere like a breeze. It shines chrome like you wouldn't believe. It shines appliances. Cleans mirrors sparkling. You wouldn't believe how well it cleans my glasses. I even use it on the inside of my car. It is HAND SANITIZER!
