Fostered Lab Puppy (Lab Cross)

She is a 4 week old Lab cross. She has no name, as she's a foster, 1 of 8 born at our home when we agreed to foster the momma. She likes to eat and play. This little girl has stolen my heart and will be hard to let her go to a new home.

Shanti Puja (Pom-Chi)

Shanti Puja, which means Peace-Prayer, is a 4 year and 3 month old Pom-Chi. I was grieving terribly over the passing of another pet, when our neighbors came over with three Pom Chi puppies. They told me to choose one to love. At first I didn't want any, but I finally chose the runt and the only red one. Her love has made a "huge" difference to my husband and me. We both thank God many times a day for her. She goes with us almost everywhere. "No Dogs Allowed" usually means "No us going in!"

Shanti Puja runs to the garden with my husband every morning during the summer. In winter, they do the same, but not for veggies, lol. Shanti has several "special" stuffed animals she likes to toss around and she also likes to play outside with a half-deflated soccer ball. Racing to the house from the end of the back yard is high on her favorites list. She doesn't care who she races. I don't think you can spoil a pet! You can only love them to the furthest depth of your heart. Shanti Puja always gives us more love and laughter than we expect.

She will not go off the sidewalk or between the hedges. Nor will she go out front. She is just so smart and human-like. Our children and grandchildren adore her too. She has never bitten a soul!

Toby (Chihuahua)

Toby is 9 years old and a chihuahua. I got my doggy when I was 6 years old. He likes it when we chase him around the house.

Graham Cracker (Dwarf Rabbit)

This is a picture of one of my pet rabbits, Graham Cracker, outside in his cage. This was taken with a Canon film camera on Easter this year, when my nieces and nephews were playing in my backyard. I was trying to capture the delicateness of a rabbit nose.

Graham Cracker lives outside with his three sisters (2 have brown fur, one has white) and 2 brothers (both brown). He is named for the color of his fur. He's six years old and was born in March of 2006, when my two daughters were in fourth and sixth grade. We came home one day to find all six baby bunnies sitting in the cage with their mother. We'd had no idea that the mother rabbit (Snowball) was pregnant! What a surprise! Graham Cracker, along with his siblings, is the great-great grandson of my family's first two rabbits that we got from the Humane Society quite a few years ago.

He loves to eat grass, bananas, carrots, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, anything! All of the rabbits play follow the leader and run throughout the backyard all day long.

Verne (Orange Winged Amazon Parrot)

Verne is a 29 year old Orange Winged Amazon Parrot. Verne was a Christmas present for me when he was 2 years old. I have had him now 27 years! Verne recently decided wandering the floor and chewing things up was lots of fun, so we had to get a cage for him to have plenty of room to roam without going out into the house like he had been doing. Parrot cages are very expensive, so we instead, bought an extra large doggie crate made of metal cage. It is perfect! We got some apple tree limbs cut to size, mounted a few other perches at his feed bowls, which we screwed to the side of the door for easy filling. And voila ~ Verne has a nice big playhouse now with lots of climbing room and chewing room too! Verne loves for me to rub his cheeks and the back of his head. He will fluff out his feathers and get ready whenever I come to him with one finger out to rub him. He is my baby, but nobody else can touch him, though the rest of the family can hold him, through growling protests!

Bentley (Short Haired Chihuahua)

Bentley is a 4 month old short haired Chihuahua. I've never had my own dog and my husband surprised me with my puppy for Mother's Day. He's my little handsome man. He likes to play with his best friend, my husband's kitten! He is the sweetest dog. We just had 6 kittens and he goes in the closet and lays with all of them and cleans them one by one. When he hears them crying, he flies into the closet to check on them! It's the sweetest thing.

Foxy Roxie (Weimaraner)

Foxy Roxie is a 4 month old Weimaraner. We got our dog from craigslist, 4 days before we had our baby. She likes to play with her ball and chew on bones .
