Use wired ribbon to create roses that can be made into pins or used to embellish shoes, picture frames, pillows, hair bands, or whatever you want. The longer the ribbon, the larger the flower.
Approximate Time: about 30 minutes
Supplies:
20-inch piece of wire edged ribbon
scissors
hot glue gun and glue sticks
pin back (optional)
ruler
Instructions:
Measure out and cut a 20-inch length of wire edged ribbon.
Bend back the wire on each side of one end of the ribbon to keep it from sliding off the wire as you work.
At the other end, bend one side back to hold it in place.
Pull the other wire to gather up the ribbon all the way along that edge.
Cut off excess wire and bend back the cut end to hold it in place.
Knot one end of the ribbon and begin rolling it up around the knotted end. It sort of begins to roll itself while you are gathering one edge.
Add a dab of glue periodically as you roll it up to hold its shape.
Fold the last 2 inches or so of ribbon across the back and glue it in place. This will help hold the rose together.

The easiest way is to use wide ribbon, and sew a long running stitch down one edge, then just pull the edge until the short ends meet, instant flower! If the single layer flower isn't enough, make several and sew them together at the center.
