Making Candles in Glass Jars

Are glass jars safe to use for candle making? I thought it would be fun to make a candle that looked like the product that was in the jar, such as salsa or jam.

Adding Scent to a Melted Candle to Reuse

I use a vanilla candle on a warmer. The candle melts down, but then there is no scent left. Someone thought if I put in a new wick, that the scent would come back. What does putting in a new wick have to do with it when I don't light the wick anyway?

Improvised double boiler.

Creating Your Own Cheap Double Boiler

Instead of buying a double boiler for twenty dollars or more, I used a skillet that I found at Goodwill for the part that holds my candle wax or soap pieces. The skillet cost me two dollars. I use an old pot from Goodwill, another two dollars, for the base.

Scented Candles Have No Odor When Burned

When making candles: after the wax melts I put my dye chips in. Once that is melted I add scent. Then I pour it into the molds and I take them out the next day. They smell good, but when I burn them there's no scent.

Reusing Old Candles

Does anyone know what to do with a candle that has the wick burnt out, but lots of wax left over? I would like to do something with them, as it seems such a waste to just throw all that sweet smelling wax out. I would also like to know how to make a candle wick.
