Total Time: 1.5 Hours

Yield: 1

Supplies:

  • 1 stiffened crocheted hat ($.50)
  • 9 plastic eggs "rounded end" ($.75)
  • 1" wide scrap orange felt or foam ($.12)
  • 18 mini white buttons ($1.00)
  • 14 faux roses ($.50)
  • 1 hot glue stick ($.25)
  • scissors
  • 1 oz Tacky Glue ($0.25)
Baby Chick Easter Hat - lay out the eggs before gluing

Steps:

  1. Plan ahead before you turn on the glue gun. It's hard to get the eggs off once they are on.

  3. Now it was time to arrange and attach the flowers.
  4. Baby Chick Easter Hat - close up of tiny white roses attached to hat brim

  5. Once I got the eggs planned, I did the faces. They all come with little air release holes, and I thought "these could be eyes". I glued tiny buttons on over the holes. Well if they have eyes, they have to have beaks! I cut a strip of foam about 1/2" wide and marked the triangles, then cut them. I glued the eyes and beaks on.
  6. Baby Chick Easter Hat - draw triangles on foam for beaks

  7. I wanted something in the top of the hat, so I just picked a color I didn't have below, which was green. Once the chicks and the flowers were on, it was time to hang. N-JOY!!
  8. Baby Chick Easter Hat - glue chick down and add a green one to the crown
