How do I prepare plywood to attach seashells to it and what type of adhesive (glue) can I use? Also, what kind of glue should I use to attach shells to shells?
I would like suggestions on how to cut sea shells. I have some small conch shells I want to cut like coins. I have a craft project in mind for them. I have seen it already done in stores so I know it is possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

Whenever you bring any natural stuff like pine cones or twigs into the house to use as decor, put them on a foil lined baking sheet in the oven at 200-250 degrees for 30 minutes to kill any hitchhiking insects.

Start with a 3"x3" square block of wood, about 1-2 inches deep. Paint it out with light (off-white, cream, eggshell, etc.) colored craft paint. If you have the tools, drill a 2" diameter circle or the diameter of a pillar candle you have on hand. Use glossy or satin finish varnish to seal the paint. Glue small seashells, covering the wood square. You can then begin to glue shells on top of shells to build up the holder. I try to create a wreath effect. Makes a beautiful and classy gift. By Hache

I've bought picture frames (with wide borders) from the Good Will or other thrift stores. I use craft paint (any color) to paint them and then a satin varnish. Then I hot glue a variety of shells to the frame. I use shells I pick up at my beach and the frames cost only a couple dollars.
