Bread Dough Fell in Refrigerator
Why would my thawed bread dough seem to rise, then a few days later, fall flat, in my refrigerator?
Buy several loaves of bread at a time and freeze them. It saves many quick trips to the store just to get a loaf of bread. To prevent the bottom of the loaf from being soggy or hard, DO NOT place it on the counter to thaw.

Using Yeast in a Bread Machine
Does it matter if you use rapid rise yeast or regular active yeast in your bread maker? The manual doesn't specify. One recipe site recommended to add water to your active yeast before adding to your machine.
Make your own bread crumbs with a blender or grater. Place the crumbs on a baking tray and bake at 212 degrees F. Crumbs are dry and crisp. Add spices or herbs or pepper and store in an airtight container. You can crumb your chicken, fish or veggies.

Adding Ingredients to Bread Machine
I was wondering, if you miss an ingredient while making bread in your bread maker; when it just starts to knead, can you add a ingredient that you missed? Thanks.
When baking bread, I use the 48 oz juice cans, sprayed with cooking spray. Knead dough and put a ball of dough in the can filling it about 1/3 full. I bake 8 loaves at a time, and they all fit nicely in the oven.

Am I the only one that likes to eat Grandma's Molasses mixed with a teaspoon of butter, to dip a piece of bread in? My mom taught me that years ago, and said that during the war, sometimes that was all they had to eat for desert.
Making Raisin Bread in Bread Machine
I am having a problem making raisin bread in my bread machine. It's an old Breadmaster machine and I have no instruction book. If I add the raisins at the beginning of the cycle they just disappear into the dough.
Where Do You Let Your Dough Rise?
Where do others put their sour dough starter to rise when the house gets cold at night? On top of the water heater is where I used to put it but, the new water heater feels cool on top. It is in a small pantry and may be warm enough but our house is allowed to cool to 65 at night. My last batch just soured and didn't turn out. I think I got it so hot that it killed the yeast because I put it on the hearth. Any help from you pros would be appreciated!
Keep Frozen Bread Dough on Hand
Keep frozen bread dough on hand to save time. You can substitute the thawed dough for just about any yeast bread recipe. I use it for pizza dough (just thaw and roll), sweet rolls, roll out thawed dough, spread with butter sprinkle with brown or white sugar, cinnamon, nuts and raisins.

Crust on Homemade Bread is Hard
I have tried to bake my own bread. I use a bread maker to mix the dough. It rises once in the machine. Then I take it out, knead it and let it rise again. When I put it into the oven and bake it. But it doesn't come out right. It gets really crusty. It smells wonderful but is inedible. What am I doing wrong?
Does your bread stick to the tea towel? When I let the bread do it's final rise the dough is sticking to the tea towel and making my loaves look so bad! Please help! Do I even need to cover it? Is this what our grandmothers used to do when the windows were opened and flies would have feasted on the dough?
Add Dried Fruits to Your Bread Machine
We just got another bread machine and have been waking up to the utterly heavenly aroma of fresh bread and coffee, set to finish just as our first alarm rings. We quickly got too used to just plain bread, and I began adding different dried fruit to the bread pan. I know that you are supposed to wait until the proper time to add such things, but I am usually sound asleep then!! lol!! So I just put it in the bottom of the pan and follow the white bread recipe the machine recommends. Here are the dried fruits that we have tried thus far, and we love each one:

Add Aluminum Foil to Your Bread Bowl
To keep rolls or other bread items warm longer, crumple aluminum foil at the bottom of your bread bowl. Then put your bread napkin in as usual. This is especially great for parties or potlucks when the bread will have to sit out for a long period of time.
My Frugal Life: Lessons From Baking Bread
Baking bread is a discipline/routine. Many people have goals to get to this or that, for example, to bake a few loaves of bread. The discipline to get to a goal, or to have that routine in your day, is usually harder than doing the actual thing you wanted to do.
