I think the best frugal thing I can think of that everyone can do is have a garage sale. I have had one every year for many years either by myself, with my daughter or a friend.
Small items ranging from 10 to 25 cents, can be a hassle to have to deal with at a rummage sale, and they take up a lot of table space! Try wrapping them (after sorting them into cost categories: 10 or 25 cents) in odds and ends comic paper, magazine pages, brown paper bags or WHATEVER.

While it's kinda late for this year, keep this in mind for your next yard sale - you can advertise your sale for free on Craigslist ! If you aren't selling a lot of high-priced items at your garage sale and want to go the low-maintenance route, have an "Everything is 50 cents sale (unless otherwise marked)". You don't have to price items unless you want to sell them for more, and it's a good marketing tactic to use on your signs and other advertising, to get people to your sale.
