Crafting Advice For a New Baby Gift
Base your gift to the new baby on the month of the baby's birth. Crochet/knit/quilt/purchase a baby blanket in the color of the baby's birthstone, and include a package of seeds/bulbs for the birth month flower (a chart for both can be found on Hallmark's website).
How to Make Seed Packet Diapers?
I am making favors for a baby shower. They are seed packets in little diapers made out of material. I am looking for instructions to make the little diapers! I am not crafty at all and can't figure it out on my own!
Ever wonder what to give the person with everything? Yesterday after church we had a ministry faire. It was wonderful! During the faire we designed a painting. The background was pink and everyone painted a heart on the canvas. The colors, glitter, different sizes and shapes made this one terrific painting! It will be auctioned off at the Valentine's dinner/dance.
One year a friend of mine gave each of my kids a box (the one shaped like a little milk carton) of Whoppers candy. It was the cutest idea and my kids just loved it! You could use Milk Duds or gum balls that are in similar containers.
Decorating Plant and Flower Pots With Wallpaper
Paint stores usually have outdated wallpaper books that they are willing to give away. I have taken some home and, with the pre-pasted wallpapers, I have taken two patterns, wrong sides together, dipped them in water for a short time and then formed them around a plant pot, bowl, glass jar, or cup. Tie a string around the paper or use an elastic.
If you are crafty at all, you probably have craft materials piling up all over your house. Why not make up some craft kits for the young artists in your life?
You need one flat organizer. These can be found in the craft section of your favorite store but I have found that they are cheaper if you go to hardware or the sporting goods area and get a tackle box. Fill with alphabet beads, elastic cord and some crystal beads. This makes for a nice gift for a young girl or guy. For boys add wooden beads. By Debra in Colorado

This is especially nice for Grandparents. Have your children draw a picture of grandpa and grandma and then sign their names to this work of art. Cover with clear contact paper. If you have a baby you could coat one of their little hands and one little foot with paint and then press on the paper and then sign it for them.
Looking for Shower Wrap Information
A friend told me about shower wraps she used to help sew for another lady to sell. She said you use a towel that has a wide hem, 4" of velcro to close at top, elastic for around the top and a ribbon trim. Has anybody else made these? I would like to make a couple for my daughter's-in-law for Christmas. My friend had forgotten the measurements used for the small, medium and large sizes. I would just like to hear if anybody else is making these. Also, wouldn't it be neat to make a matching one for the guys? Katherine
Patchwork Fabric-Covered Gift Box
Patchwork fabric-covered gift boxes are an easy, affordable way to dress up any gift package. They're also great for storage. Total preparation and assembly time for this project is approximately 2-3 hours, depending on the size of the shoe box.
Easy Homemade Gifts for Kids to Make
Even younger children can make these easy homemade gifts. The supplies are inexpensive, and an afternoon of creative crafting will produce enough gifts for several members of the family and several friends as well.
A good craft for kids gifts. You can also make wedding presents, housewarming presents, etc. An idea I came up with several years ago was to take a regular bath towel (the real nice thick ones are harder to use unless you have a heavy-duty sewing machine) and sew fabric along one end of it and make a matching hand towel and washrag to go with it.
Easter Basket for Coffee-Loving Teens
You may think that your kids have outgrown Easter baskets by the time they're teens, but Easter is a fun time to show your teen how much you care about them and that you're thinking of them.

I recommend growing lavender, mint, thyme, rosemary, and other herbs. When you harvest, cut extra to give to friend or make your own sachets or potpourri.
Here's some instructions for making your own treasure box to give as a Valentine's Day gift or for other occasions.
It's the season here for pine cones, acorns, walnuts, wild flowers, thistles, cattails, etc., these are all things found in nature that we can collect (for free!), then dry or preserve, and save for use in our winter crafts.
A nice little gift that I received cost close to nothing but means a lot to me. It is a little wrapped present 2 x 2 x 1 inch.
