More Light in a Dark Apartment

Our new apartment is nice - but dark - so I have been collecting mirrors of different kinds to arrange on the walls. I have 5 little ones grouped together in a narrow space and others of different sizes around the room to reflect the light, along with a large one on one wall.

Vistas in Every Room

On a visit to my urban apartment a friends commented that I had put "vistas" in every room - and, although it hadn't been conscious, I realize that I had positioned pictures in every room that looked as if they were artistic "windows" to an outside natural world. It really does make it easier to live in the city with them.

Looking for Frugal Wall Decorations?

As a college student on a budget - and one living in an apartment where white walls prevail - I was stuck for cheap decorating ideas. Then it came to me - CD covers! It's amazing how elaborate some of the CD artwork can be, and I had so many of them sitting on my shelf gathering dust. Ten minutes and about 30 CD inserts later, I had some fabulous wall art. All it took was some tape to hold them in place and voila!
