Restuff Sofa Cushions With Batting
I was studying my daughters' expensive sofa that seemed saggy and beat down on the upper cushions that go behind your back. I unzipped them and saw that they were stuffed with pieces of batting.
Craft: Converted Coffee Table Display Case
My husband converted a damaged coffee table into a display case and it is now my favorite piece of furniture. You need a coffee table that has a drawer in it as you need a table with a top piece and a bottom piece.
I recently put slip covers on my sofas. How do I keep them from slipping or getting messy after sitting on the sofas? It's a pain to adjust them every time someone sits on them. Many Thanks!
Upholstery that Holds Up to Cat Scratching
Do cats like to claw on microfiber furniture? My kitty scratched up my leather sofa. I think mainly the leather was too soft. I am looking for the most resistant or at least the least appealing type of upholstery to cats. Any ideas? Anyone have experience with microfiber? Or, are there types of leather that are fairly resistant to cat claws as far as when they are pushing off, etc?
Quilting Chair With Storage Compartments
Several years ago I saw a quilting chair that appears to be a regular living room chair. It was built with special compartments to store quilting supplies. I have attempted to locate further information and have not been able to locate the website.
Temporary Shelves Using Cinder Blocks
Is there such a thing as removable or temporary shelves? I live in a apt that has only 2 shelves per small closet. I heard you can make temporary shelves out of cinder blocks, I have not idea how to do this. Do you have any suggestions?
Reusing Cabinet From Cabinet TV
I have one of the old cabinet-style TVs that no longer works. The cabinet is in good condition, I hate to toss it. Anyone have ideas for something else the cabinet could be used for?
Re-cover Chair Seats With Found Fabric
Recover chair seats (such as dining chairs) on the cheap by using alternative fabric sources such as curtains found at second hand/thrift stores or clearance fabric table covers or sheets found just about anywhere.
Use a Bathroom Rug to Move Furniture
Recently I needed to switch furniture in two rooms in my house. I have beautiful hardwood floors that are 57 years old and was afraid of scratching them. The furniture I needed to move (by myself) was heavy, big pieces and cumbersome. I thought about getting some of those mover thingies you put under the legs to move things but I didn't trust them to not scratch the floors.
Use Pipe to Raise Couch Height
The older I get, the further down I have to sit, it seems. Being on a disability pension, I was looking for a way to make my couch higher. I have seen blocks made to increase height, but they are very costly.
Furniture Repair: Upholstery Damage From Cats
We are moving from a trailer to a house and I need help! I have a couch that my cat ripped up the sides and front. It is comfortable and sturdy. I hate slipcovers. They seem to fall off every time you sit down. Is there any other way to bring it back to life?
My husband has a beautiful cedar gun cabinet with a glass door and double door storage space on the bottom. However, for safety reasons, we just bought a large gun safe and now we would like to use this wooden gun cabinet in another way. Other than a curio cabinet, any suggestions?
Spray Painting Plastic Lawn Furniture
Is it ok to spray paint plastic lawn/patio furniture? I have a basic plastic set (chairs and a table), but the plain white is boring, so I want to spray paint them in a color so they look cuter in my backyard.
I would like to make an upholstered x base ottoman. Does anyone know where I can find a site to learn how to do that?
I would like to know if I paint a reclining chair with floral spray paint will the paint rub off on clothing? Thanks.
I have just painted my daughter's room to match a comforter set we bought. The top half is white, the bottom is chocolate brown, and a dark pink stripe goes around the middle. I repainted an old bedroom set tan (it was originally off white/yellow?). I'm afraid that now the finish may be too light. Should I try using the brown wall paint and a decorating finish on the furniture or leave it alone?
Keeping Couch Cushions from Sliding
I have a couch and love seat with cushions that slide forward when we sit on them. I've tried bed sheets, foam sheets as well as non slip rubber pantry liners. They all roll up instead of keeping cushions in place.

Does anyone know where I can find some slipcovers for my wing chairs?
How do you remove a week old water mark from a high polished cherry table?
Does anyone know if it is possible to refresh wood veneer? I have a lovely old table but the top has had much use over the years and the veneer looks terrible.
