Store Bead Boxes in Stackable Paper Trays

Most of us beaders have a lot of plastic multi-slotted storage boxes and they get heavy. Pulling one from a stacked group can be difficult with the chance of an avalanche. I have been able to obtain good quality plastic paperwork stacking trays at yard sales.

Rewind Yarn So it Pulls From Center

It's always easiest to use yarn which pulls from the center. If you have some that does not pull from the center of the skein, here's a simple solution. Holding the end of the yarn in the heel of your hand, wrap the yarn around your thumb 12 or 15 times.

Use Shot Glass to Store Glue

Because of the width and depth of the shot glass, a glue bottle placed upside down will sit on the rim of the glass and the tip of the glue bottle will not touch the bottom of the glass.

Use Film Canisters For Storing Small Items

Use empty film canisters to store beads, jewelry findings, etc. in. You can glue one of the content items on the lid of canister. Works great.

Organizing Individual Fabric Craft Projects

When I am pulling fabrics together to make a particular pattern, I place all the fabric, the pattern, any notions, trims, and such in a large Ziploc bag and hang the bag on a pants hanger.

Plastic Coffee Can Yarn Holder

Organizing Craft Stamps

Here is what helps me keep my stamps organized. I found these old wooden boxes (50 cents at the thrift shop), with a lid attached. As I filled each box, I would stamp the image onto a plain white piece of paper, which I also found at the thrift shop.

Silverware Organizer for Sewing Basket

Use a silverware drawer divider in your sewing basket to organize your thread, scissors, needles, and whatever gets collected there. They are easily cut down between the dividers. I moved one of the slots on one side to the end of my sewing basket.
