Craft Project: Pumpkin Garland
Orange cardstock, black ribbon, and black marker are used to create this quick pumpkin garland. Make a pumpkin template on white card.
Using the template, draw around it on to the orange cardstock. Cut the shape using scissors.
Halloween Costume: Dora the Explorer
Nothing to it, I just got a pink shirt, orange shorts, yellow socks, white shoes, backpack with purple straps, and I made a map by rolling up a piece of paper and drawing the eyes, eyebrows and mouth. I found "Boots" the monkey on Ebay.
Craft Project: Haunted House Frames
Halloween frames to display my grandchildren's Halloween costumes. To showcase my grandsons' Halloween costumes, I take pictures and use the thumbnail pics. Pick a picture of something you like from a magazine or flyer of Halloween houses.
As a child, I lived in rural Illinois. October there is cold. Sometimes it snows! The flimsy store-bought costumes leave everyone shivering. A warm costume is worth the effort.
I used a plastic trash bag and painted it with red and white. I doubled the trash bag and glued on. I got big tennis shoes and painted them red, got a yellow shirt. For the suspenders, I used plastic white tall kitchen bags and velcroed them to the pants.
Halloween Costume: Minnie Mouse
Draw circles on t-shirt using round object of your choice. Paint in circles with white craft paint. Use eyebrow pencil to draw on nose and whiskers.
Craft Project: Spooky Eyes Luminaries
Spaghetti jars get a Halloween makeover! Use either glow sticks or battery-operated votive candle for a safe, easy luminary this year. Super-easy; let the kids do this craft for your window ledge or porch, set along the path to the treats.
Halloween: Little Indian Maiden
I took fleece material, cut it and made it into a simple jumper. I made it big so she could dress warm that night. Cut fringe and sew trim on bottom of skirt. Add a head band with a feather and feather trim in front of jumper.
Halloween Costume: Tooth Fairy
I made this costume for my daughter when she was in Kindergarten. I always try to create costumes with great ideas and little money. The main dress was purchased as small pieces of shiny fabric from Walmart, depending on the size of your child.
Craft Project: Spider Egg Sac Light Cover
The magic of Halloween happens outside, at night; right? I made this easy decoration to go over the globe of the porch light. You can too for almost nothing!
Halloween Couples Costume: Salt and Pepper Shaker
My husband and I went as salt and pepper shakers a few years back and won first prize. This costume is so easy to make and cost little. I know you can buy these but why would you when half the fun is creating it!
Peasant Skirt, black long sleeve shirt, long scarf and old costume jewelry. None of this costume had to be made.
Halloween Costume: A Bunch Of Grapes
I started with a sweatshirt that had plenty of space. I blew up a bunch of balloons, and used safety pins to pin them to the sweatshirt (through the part on the other side of the knot, obviously), in the shape of a bunch of grapes.
Craft: Halloween Pencil Toppers As "Treats"
I always make plastic canvas treats for my grandchildren and their classmates. I make 25 of these for grade school parties for under $5.00 total. All the children and teachers love them. They do not add to the sweet intake for the day.
My daughter has supplied me with endless, funny pictures and I thought I would share one here! She fixed herself up and added the teeth to top the outfit off! :)
Scenery: Hay In Nova Scotia, Canada
Here in Nova Scotia, we have farms and lots of hay, so HEY!
My 13 year old daughter is learning to cake decorate, this was the cake she made for our Halloween party. I think she did an awesome job, don't you?

Halloween: Michael Jackson Costume
Wow, this was hard to do, I can't lie. This is Michael "Drackson" (as my son calls him). We used DVD videos to sketch the make of the jacket. We bought a 60's style costume and used the little black leather jacket pattern.
Halloween: "A Cow Says Moo" Costume
Take a man's size large crew neck white tee shirt. Take pants and shirt that fit your toddler and lay them out on the shirt. Cutout around the pants and shirt 1 inch larger. Cut out large "spots" from black fabric.
This costume was got so much attention. I was so glad I went through the effort in making a handmade costume. Most of what I do is just trial and error so don't be afraid to try.
Halloween Costume: Bun in the Oven
My daughter was pregnant at Halloween time so they made a "Bun in the Oven" costume. Her husband was outfitted with a white apron and chef's hat and carried a mixing bowl and wooden spoon.
Halloween Costume: Deviled Egg
The instructions are quite simple. First go to the fabric store and pick up a couple of yards of white felt and 1/2 a yard of bright yellow felt. You also need store bought materials for being a devil, such as the the red horns, the tail and the pitchfork.
Halloween Costume: Frog Prince
Cut a large white circle from the felt and stick on the front of the onesie/jumper as the belly of the frog. Cut gold circles from the gold [border] paper and use double-sided sticky tape OR hot glue to scatter on the green part of the frog's body.
