Water Heater ShedIf you want to have a cozy home for your water heater, why not give it a water shed to dwell in?

A vase with yellow daffodils next to some figurines.

Sunny DaffodilsThese February sunny daffodils filled my home with a breath of springtime, flanked by a ceramic couch filled with sleepy little girls in a church pew at the end of a sermon and a young lad awaiting his turn to serenade the young girls with a violin concerto.

Sunflower canister and wooden Pinocchio doll.

Photo: Retro Canister and Mr. PinocchioI've recently found my grandmother's old canister set. It is so cheerful with its bright colors and so appreciated. This set of tins is so retro and colorful. I always like to add some humor. Mr. Pinocchio reminds us always to never tell a lie.

Photo of a Screen Door Drape

Screen Door SubstituteInstead of paying to have a screen door installed between an attached garage and the interior of the home, drape a shear lacelike material over an expansion rod. Place the rod at the top of the door inside the framework.

Place Kitchen Table in CornerI painted the kitchen this weekend and wanted a new look. I had a bright idea that makes the room look bigger. Instead of having the table in the middle of the room, I placed it in the corner.

Garden: Sun PorchNow that the cold weather has set in, I look at this picture of my sun shiny porch and wish for spring. Each morning in warmer weather, I thank God for the warmth of my surroundings, the tree, the birds singing, the smells of Spring flowers and new mown grass in Summer.

Patriotism On DisplayLandlord used toilet anchor bolts about 2 inches too long. Ugly. So I tried to make the situation appear 'planned', instead of being a mistake.

Spray Paint Plastic MatsI have changed the color scheme of my deck furnishings this year so my plastic mats didn't fit anymore. I decided to simply spray paint them with an indoor/outdoor spray paint that is good for metal, plastic, wood, etc.

Victorian House RestorationWe bought this Victorian home, circa 1894, to restore it to its original grandeur. We have torn out fake low ceilings to reveal 12 foot ceilings among many other surprises. The home sits in a part of town forgotten by everyone except the down and out.

Inspect The Floor When Replacing DoorsWe bought our house about 5 years ago. It had the old aluminum frame windows and sliding glass door. This year we had them replaced with Low-E vinyl windows. We decided to have everything installed by a professional so we didn't mess anything up. I'm so glad we did!

My Favorite Kitchen CornerI wanted to share my before and after photos of my favorite kitchen corner. Most of my knick knacks came from around my home or yard sales.

Living Room Design That Flows TogetherHere is a design that flows that together.

Jojo's Cupboard RefurbishingI just wanted to comment on painting kitchen cupboard laminate doors. We'd bought a 2nd hand kitchen a few years ago and the doors were a horrible and a bland pale blue colour, but the carcasses were in excellent condition and much better than some budget units that we could have bought new.

Bad Wall Cupboard Installation JobWhen you come across one of these in you wall cupboards, make sure it's at top and not the bottom. My Crazy DIY house pre-owner put the fitted wardrobes on upside

Ladybugs in the Window?Clean your Lady or Manbugs out of the corners of your windows before painting. I want to paint this window. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with these little guys/girls. It's too cold here to throw them out. I sure can't kill them.
