As with any mom, when my son turned one I wanted him to have the best party ever. After I had looked at several party themes, I finally decided on the Sesame Street Beginnings theme. It had baby Elmo, baby Big Bird, and baby Cookie Monster with a big one. Not only was it cute but it was way more in my budget than any other ones I had looked at.
This is one of my good friend's birthday party and my 9 and 12 year old boys decided to decorate him with the decorations from his party. They had a blast wrapping him up.
The theme was Nursery Rhymes.. so this is the "The Cow Jumped Over the MOON!" cake I made for my girlfriend's daughter's baby shower
Rubber Duck Themed First Birthday
I decided on a rubber ducky theme for my son's first birthday party; he really likes them! I had a bunch of rubber duckies, but wasn't quite sure what to do with them. Just setting them out around the party area didn't look right, and the only way I could think to hang them was if I tied something from their necks!
I wanted to share the diaper cake that I made for my sister's baby shower. It makes a great decoration as well as gift!
Reuseable Decorations for Baby Shower
Decorating the 2 chairs for the Mommy and Daddy to be. Unlike most decorations that are crepe paper and bows that get thrown away after a shower, Why not decorate with new and usable Baby items!
Dorm Room Mug Party As Ice Breaker
My daughter was feeling a little unsure of how to fit in at college. She said she was sometimes left out of things. So I suggested that she be the initiator by throwing a party with food so she did.
My husband is always being funny. It was my daugther's birthday and he wanted to be Big Bird, take a look!
This is a photo of a shower cake I baked and decorated for a baby shower this weekend. The colors of the napkins were all bright neon colors and McCormick food coloring now sells neon cake coloring. I chose a patchwork pattern, and marked my pattern on the top of the cake with a toothpick, before decorating.
This is the 14 inch cake I made for my daughter's baby shower! The shower is made with a candle and a fluted pastry tin. The bath tub and bubbles were made out of fondant. The baby's head is a styrofoam ball covered with flesh tinted fondant.
A Different Twist On A Baby Shower Cake
This is a photo of a baby shower cake I made for a friend. It is made from 5 rolled-up baby blankets ($1 each) held together with straight pins. The lace around the bottom is also pinned on. No hot glue is used so this can be taken apart with no damage to the blankets.
For my son's second birthday, we had a construction zone theme. We put a new toy plastic dumptruck on the table to fill with chips (until my son wanted to play with it!), the invitations were made with hard-hat die cuts, and the cake was a truck with donut wheels.
Hi, just wanted to share with you the cake I made for my daughter's First Communion last year.
I just had to share my latest masterpiece with all of you. I am so proud of myself. :) I like to create birthday cakes. This is the birthday cake I made for my niece's 2nd birthday.
Baby Shower Cake for Mom Expecting Twins

How many times have you put olives on your fingers? Here's a fun food display where the icy fingers display the olives.
Here's an easy and fun way to serve dip at your Halloween party.
A Birthday Greeting Sheet Craft Project. A few years ago, my children who were in their late teens decided to spray paint a bedsheet as a birthday card and hang it outside. It is a creative way to say Happy Birthday to someone and it is a keepsake. . .
Thrifty Blues Clues Party. My son just turned 3, and he's a big Blue's Clues fan! The official licensed party supplies are expensive though. An 8 pack of plates alone costs $2.99, and I was expecting about 24 guests at his party. . .
"Gerber" Baby Favors for 1st Birthday Party
For my daughter's first birthday party, I made her into the "Gerber" baby by creating new "labels" for the jars. I started with a Word document and inserted a picture of her from my Kodak files.
Craft Project: Birthday Party Hat
Many birthdays have a theme. When my grandson's birthday came around we couldn't find a party hat with the characters he wanted on it. Using one of the plates I cut it out and made his hat.
Let's Go to the Olympics Party
This year, I am going to throw a party on the opening day of the Olympics. The summer Olympics this year will be held in Beijing, China so I thought this would be a great time to pull out some of my favorite Chinese recipes. The menu I chose will feed between 2-4 couples. What is great about this menu is that if I choose not to cook, I can order all the food from my local Chinese take out and it will be less work for me.
Craft Project: Sports Party Crown
If you have a child who loves sports, this is a great project he or she can do in preparation for his or her birthday party--OR--if you like to do a craft at your parties, it's simple enough for a small group of kids to do so everyone can make their own party hat.
Craft Project: Driver's License Cake Topper
I was short on time but wanted to have a little afterschool surprise for my daughter who her passed her driver's test today. So I whipped out a chocolate chip cookie mix, spread it in a square pan and made this funny topper, which includes the new driver and her older sister, with my photo software.
