While this isn't a hugely original recipe, they are an inexpensive substitute for the same, old rolls. They're extra good with soups, salads, or chili.

Pat one tube of crescent rolls into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan. Brown ground beef in large skillet; drain. Add spaghetti sauce and mushrooms to beef. Spoon beef mixture over the top of crescent rolls. Sprinkle cheese over beef mixture. Top with second tube of crescent rolls, forming a crust over the top of the casserole. Bake at 350 degree F for 30 minutes. Serves 6.

Take two triangles from the crescent rolls, spread spicy mustard on both pieces. Place a ham slice and a cheese slice on one of the triangles, then lay the other on top. Pinch together all sides. Repeat. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees F degrees until crescent rolls are brown. When they come out while still hot, cut them in half to make small sandwiches.

Mix egg, milk, sugar in small bowl. Brush on top of the rolls, and bake according to crescent rolls baking instructions. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
Source: I made these for Valentine's dinner and they were wonderful. I found the recipe in the February 2009 issue of Living magazine which is mailed out to the Lake Ray Hubbard area.

Separate crescent roll dough into 8 rectangles. Beat cream cheese, butter, and 1/4 cup milk in mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Stir in chicken, onion, and celery. Spread cream cheese mixture on each rectangle, and roll to enclose filling. Place on nonstick baking sheet. Bake 18-20 minutes or until brown on 350 degrees F. Spoon heated mixture of soup and 1/2 soup can milk over roll-ups.

Separate dough into 4 rectangles. Press 5x6 inch size, sealing perforations. Put 9 pepperoni slices in center third of each rectangle.
Spread 1 Tbsp. sauce over pepperoni. Fold slice of cheese in half; put in pepperoni. Fold short sides of dough towards center until they almost meet. Securely pinch top and bottom edges of dough together, leaving middle open.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Tuck 4-5 more pepperoni slices into middle opening. Bake 13-16 minutes at 375 degrees F.

You could make them with any chips. Next I am going to try raspberry chips. Semi sweet chocolate chips are a little bitter and didn't get any rave reviews around my house.

After chicken is boiled, if using the whole chicken, remove skin, de-bone and shred.
Saute celery, onion, and mushrooms.
In a large bowl mix your shredded chicken, sauteed vegetables, salt and pepper, and cream cheese until well blended.
Take 2 triangles of the croissant and make into one square making it just a little bit thinner by lightly flouring your surface, and using a rolling pin.
Take chicken mixture and put 2 to 2 1/2 Tbsp. (more or less),and put in the middle of the croissant.
Take all the sides of the croissant and make like a ball, by pinching or folding dough to make sure mixture cannot escape while baking.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet. Check the croissants can for temperature, and baking time.
Serves 8. If using as an appetizer, use the original triangles and reduce the chicken mixture and it will make 16 delicious appetizers!
