Caramel Frappuccino

Someone was just asking for a Caramel Frappucino recipe so thought should share with everyone. Here's the recipe I've used for quite awhile. I prefer using 'or more to taste' of both the sugar and caramel but others I've served it to thought what I like is too sweet - LOL ;-)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cold coffee
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar, or more to taste
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 2 Tbsp. caramel ice cream topping syrup, or more to taste
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

Combine first five ingredients in a blender and blend until drink is smooth.

Top with whipped cream and then drizzle with more caramel syrup.

McDonald's Caramel Frapuccino Recipe

I have tried to "like" coffee for many, many years; the smell of it brewing is wonderful, but I have never been able to acquire a taste for it. My daughter, however, recently insisted I try a McDonald's caramel frapuccino, even though it has coffee in it. Surprisingly, I loved it! I've had several since, but because it's a bit pricey, I'd love to make it myself. Do any TF family members have a recipe you could share? I sure would appreciate your help! Blessings.

Caseye, try it with instant first then try purchasing a cup of regular coffee 'to go' from anywhere and try it that way too :-) If you like the regular brewed coffee flavor better than the instant then spend the money to purchase a coffee maker, filter and ground coffee and save the instant for 'in a pinch' :-)

Frappuccino Recipes

I am looking for any recipe(s) for Frappuccinos. Someone out there surely has their version that taste just as good as those sold in the stores in the glass bottles, that are very expensive.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Frappuccino Recipes

My sons think I am crazy, but I use my leftover coffee, add two tablespoons of sugar, a capful of vanilla, chipped ice, and whole milk. Put in the blender til frothy and add cool whip on top. Voila, a French Vanilla Frappucino that tastes just like the one I have paid $4.50 for down the street.Works for me. (07/07/2006)

RE: Frappuccino Recipes

Here's a Frappuccino recipe my family enjoys and it's very easy.
  • 1/2 cup cold strong coffee or 1 teaspoon instant coffee and 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
Put all in a blender and blend till a consistency you like. Flavorings can be added. We like to add chocolate syrup or flavored coffee syrups. Enjoy. (07/07/2006)

RE: Frappuccino Recipes

I buy the flavoured instant cappuchino mixes to make them at home. Instead of mixing them with hot water I dissolve the powder in a little hot water (a couple of tablespoons, it won't mix well directly into milk) and then fill up the rest of the cup with milk. The mixes come in different flavours, but you can add vanilla extract or chocolate syrup to get the flavour you want. You can also put it in the blender with some ice to make it more frosty. RE: Frappuccino Recipes

Copycat Starbuck's Frappuccino (4 servings)
  • 3/4 cup double strength coffee (see below), chilled
  • 2-1/2 cups 2 percent milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or Splenda)
  • 1 tablespoon dry pectin, optional (for texture)

Combine coffee and sugar and chill. Add milk and pectin, shake together thoroughly and chill again. To serve, zap in a blender for 30 to 45 seconds, or shake mixture in ice, strain and serve. For vanilla add a capful of vanilla extract; for mocha, add a pinch of cocoa powder.

Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker approximately 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.

Like Starbuck's Frozen Frappuccino (2 large servings)

  • 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, chilled
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (or Splenda)
  • 1 cup 2 percent milk
  • 2 cups ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.

For caramel, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping; for mocha add 3 tablespoons of Hershey's syrup. If desired, top with whipped cream and drizzle additional sauce over top of cream. (07/07/2006)

RE: Frappuccino Recipes

Put 1 cup of skimmed milk (in a plastic cup) in the freezer till it is chilled as you will be able to see the milk forming flakes. Its better than adding ice to the blender as you add the rest of the ingredients and it is rich and creamy with no added ice. Add:
  • a pinch of vanilla or 2 drops.
  • 1 spoon of Maxwell house Colombian strong instant coffee (best for frappuccino)
  • sugar or Splenda (as you like the taste to be)
  • 3 spoons of dark chocolate syrup or caramel syrup

Mix all in the blender till its smooth and creamy, top it with additional creamy foam spray and caramel. Wow. (06/11/2007)

RE: Frappuccino Recipes

Here's a healthy version of the Starbucks' frappuccino:
  • 1/2 cup milk (or Half and Half for richer drink)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1/2 tsp cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla (may also add a little nutmeg, hazelnut syrup, and/or coconut extract as well to spice it up)
  • 2 T. coffee substitute (like Pero or Roma) or 1 tsp instant coffee

Mix all in a blender, then add about 2 cups crushed ice (or 3 cups cubed). As soon as the drink gets thick, like a milkshake, you can stop adding ice, and it should be perfect. Delicious. (07/21/2008)

RE: Frappuccino Recipes

I live in Florida and I need something to drink when its 95 degrees outside. I didn't have any vanilla or syrup on hand so this is what I did. Here is an iced Frap made with what I had on hand and it worked out great. Place everything in a blender.
  • 12-15 Ice cubes
  • 12 oz. of milk
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of Cardamom
  • 1 Double shot of espresso
  • 2.5 Tablespoons of Sugar
Blend until smooth. Pour into a frosty beer mug with ice cubes. Enjoy. PS. If you are over 21, you can add a shot of dark rum and kick it up a notch. (06/14/2009)

Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes (Like Starbucks)

I love the frozen drinks at Starbucks, but they are so expensive. Does anyone have any recipes that are as smooth and creamy as Starbucks and, needless to say, as yummy?

RE: Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes (Like Starbucks)

I don't have an exact recipe, but we mix up coffee and vanilla ice cream in the blender for a similar treat. And I agree with you no coffee is as yummy as Starbucks. We are thrifty, but I splurge on packaged Starbucks at Walmart (it's the cheapest) to enjoy on the weekends. (03/01/2005)

RE: Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes (Like Starbucks)

Here's another great recipe you can try. Mix 1 small box powered milk, same size powered sugar, and unsweetened cocoa. Mix all this together in a plastic container. This can be stored for quite a while this way. In blender pour your regular or lowfat milk to equal about 1 1/2 cup. Scoop about 1 cup of the powered mixture. Put in your favorite candy bar (Butterfinger is best or Heath Bar), 1 shot espresso and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy. (03/13/2005)

Starbuck's Frozen Frappuccino

The Frappuccino is blended with strong coffee, sugar, a dairy base, and ice. Make double-strength coffee by measuring 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per cup (serving) in your coffee maker. The copy will be even more authentic if you use Starbucks beans and grind them yourself just before brewing.

Coffee

  • 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 cups ice
  1. Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker. That should be 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
  2. To make the drink, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.

Makes 2 large drinks.

Caramel: For this, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping to the original recipe above and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream and drizzle additional caramel over the whipped cream.

Mocha: For this version, add 3 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate syrup to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream if desired (03/11/2007)

RE: Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes (Like Starbucks)

I make this one all the time, it doesn't taste exactly like Starbucks, but personally, I think it's way better. It's on the back of a Nestle hot chocolate packet. They have a lot of different recipes on the back of each packet in a box and I've tried a few, but this one's my favorite.

Frozen Mocha

(makes 1 serving; about the amount of 1 coffee cup)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice cubes *I use 5 and it works great
  • 1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt, or ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 envelope of any brand hot cocoa mix *I use Nestle

    Directions:

Place ice, frozen yogurt (or ice cream), milk, cocoa mix, and coffee granules in blender; cover. Blend until smooth. Top with whipped topping. Serve Immediately.

Like I said earlier, I got this recipe from Nestle. I love it. (11/17/2007)

RE: Frozen Coffee Drink Recipes (Like Starbucks)

Starbucks has something they call a "Frappuccino" remember this is a registered name so what I make is simply "My Frozen Coffee" This recipe for a drink costs me about $0.38 for a 40 oz blender full. A bit of a difference when 16 oz at Starbucks set me back $4.50 plus the expected tip and I don't have a clue what the heck was in that foil box that came out from under the cabinet. So here is my own tried and true recipe.

The measurements are to taste that you prefer over time there is no order to the mixture:

    1. from my ice dispenser 1 20 oz travel cup of ice. Just dump it in your Kitchen-aid counter top blender.
    2. About 8 oz plain or vanilla yogurt. I buy it in a 32 oz carton.
    3. 2 or 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
    4. A good hard squeeze of honey from one of those bear shaped plastic thingys with the pop top.
    5. 1 or 2 packets of water soluble cocoa or an equivalent for a box of powder.
    6. 1 or 2 scoops of instant coffee crystals
    7. Just enough milk to make the blender take up the challenge and mix it well when you turn the thing on Liquify.

There is no secret to the mixture in what to add first. If you want some protein add a whole egg. If you want ice cream use less milk. If you want a zip and a zing add a shot of Caffee Lolita Coffee Liqueur. If you are diabetic well you know what to do in that case. Enjoy the fun. (11/03/2008)
