Put one small box of any flavored gelatin into a blender. Add 1 cup of boiling water and blend on low speed for 30 seconds. Add 1-1/2 cup crushed ice and blend on high speed for 30 seconds. Pour into a small bowl and set in the refrigerator for 5 minutes. This dessert treat tastes like sherbet. Enjoy!

I make this drink a lot, it is a calming comfort drink. You heat a mug of water (1 minute 45 seconds on high power), then mix in half a box of any 3 ounce gelatin dessert mix. If you take a sip of the hot drink, you will see how nice it is. This is a popular treat at our house, especially when people feel they need something nice to drink on a nice cool evening.

You can also add Twizzler strawberry candy and dip them in the drink and then in the other half of the box of powder gelatin that is left. The Twizzler candy takes a rather distinct shape when taken out of the hot drink and put into the Jello powder. Besides the distinct shape, it leaves little round balls of powder. This happens after the Twizzler is stirred around in the powder after having been in the hot drink. You can then eat the Twizzler candy with yummy powder on the end of it.

I did read that gelatin has properties that boost the immune system, but I just like it for the fact that it is a wonderful drink.

I am looking for a recipe for a jello mixture that tastes like a creamsicle. I have looked high and low with no results and the lady won't give out her family recipe.

The dessert has mandarin oranges, Cool Whip and what else in it?

I Googled creamsicle + jello + recipe and got these: www.recipezaar.com/58214 www.recipegoldmine.com/.../jello206.html www.recipegoldmine.com/.../jello380.html

They were the first three. I believe the last one is the one you probably want. I usually have good luck with Google. You just have to put in the right combination of words and keep trying if you don't get what you want at first.

ORANGE CHIFFON JELLO SALAD

2 small boxes orange jello or one large box (can use sugar free)
1 cup boiling water
3 oz. cream cheese (can use light, but NOT fat-free)

1 small can chunk pineapple, drained, but save the juice
1 small can Mandarin oranges, drained, but save the juice
3 Cool Whip, but not fat free

Dissolve jello in boiling water. Stir in 1 cup of juices from drained pineapple and oranges. Let sit until consistency of a raw egg. Beat cream cheese at low speed until smooth. Add jello and blend well. Carefully blend in oranges and pineapple so they don't get mashed up. Carefully blend in Cool Whip. Refrigerate until firm.

STIR in whipped topping with wire whisk until smooth. Refrigerate 10 minutes or until mixture will mound. Stir in pineapple, oranges, marshmallows and coconut. Spoon into 6-cup mold sprayed with cooking spray.

Does anyone know of a recipe with orange Jello, crushed pineapple, and either whole eggs, separated or egg whites? I know this is an old recipe, maybe from the 30's or 40's. My Mom had it handwritten and it was called "Heavenly Delight". It was made in an 8x8 pan and I believe you cooked it on top of the stove and then mixed it together. It was fluffy and was an interesting combination. My Mom can't find the recipe either. Thanks for any help.

Are you sure it was eggs and not marshmallows? I have a friend who makes an ambrosia "salad" with crushed pineapple, little marshmallows, pecan pieces, jello and i think cherries. When combined with the pineapple juice, the marshmallows have a frothy consistency, kind of like the texture of loosely scrambled eggs. Hope this helps.

I found this via the 'net, eggwhites are listed at the bottom:

HOW TO WHIP JELLO GELATIN

One of the easiest things you can do to change the texture and appearance of Jell-O Gelatin -- just whip it until thick and fluffy. Prepare Jell-O Gelatin (any fruit flavor) as directed on package and chill until very thick. Then beat with rotary beater or electric mixer until mixture is fluffy and thick -- about double in volume results in the best eating quality and flavor.

To shorten the chilling and beating times, chill the gelatin until slightly thickened. Then place the bowl of gelatin in another bowl of ice and water before starting to beat.

Pour whipped gelatin into molds or shallow pan, or add cubes of Jell-O Gelatin (page 85) or fruit and pour into molds. Chill until firm. Unmold, cut in squares, or spoon into serving dishes; serve with fruit or a custard sauce, if desired. A 3-oz. package makes about 4 cups, or 4 or 5 servings; a 6-oz. package makes about 8 cups, or 8 to 10 servings.

Snows: Prepare whipped Jell-O Gelatin, adding unbeaten egg whites to the thickened gelatin before starting to beat. Use I or 2 egg whites for a 3-oz. package Jell-O Gelatin, or 2 or 3 egg whites for a 6- oz. package.

Donita, I have a recipe for a strawberry Pretzel Salad. I wonder if that is what you are looking for. Pretzels kind of remind me of straw. Any way, I will give it to you and you can try it or not.

2 cups crushed pretzels
1 stick butter, melted
3 Tbsp. sugar.

Mix together well and press into a buttered 9"x13" dish. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Cool.

Mix together 1 (8oz.) pkg of cream cheese, softened with 1 cup sugar. Add 8 oz container cool whip and blend well.

Spread this mixture over cooled Pretzel crust. (seal edges well).Chill

Dissolve a 6 oz. pkg of strawberry jello in 2 cups boiling water. Add 2 (10 oz. pkgs sliced frozen strawberries. Stir and chill until slightly jelled. Pour over cream cheese layer. Chill several hours or over night.
That's it! It's really yummy.

Does anyone have a recipe for a jello dessert called Lime Delight? I got it from a dear friend along time ago and I seem to have lost it.

I am going to make these jello worms. Do you think I should put it in the refrigerator to let it set? It has the kind of whipping cream you buy in a carton so I am thinking yes to the refrigerator, but it doesn't say in the recipe.

You basically add these things together, cool and then pour into a lot of straws in a glass with a rubber band around them.

Recipe:

2 packs Raspberry Jello
1 package unflavored gelatine
3/4 cup whipping cream
3 cups boiling water
100 flexible straws
or enough to fill your tall cup or container

If anyone has made these, how did they turn out also?

It is from an Australian Business Directory called WHOit. (http://thewhoot.com.au/business-directory)

I don't want to leave out the whipping cream in the jello and set it out if it would be dangerous as far as health. I am not sure what the recipe means when it reads "set out until firm".
