I didn't have blue cheese or ranch dressing so I took a couple of spoonfuls of mayo, Greek yogurt, buttermilk, flavorings and spices. I had a dresssing for the coleslaw in a jiffy.
I like the sweet flavor of this dressing. Very good!

If you are a fan of Greek gyros, those wonderful sandwiches of thin sliced lamb, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions served in a pita bread, this is the sauce that goes on them - or my version of it which, of course, I think is the best one.
Here's a great way to add the wonderful avocado flavor to a salad without actually adding them sliced or diced.
Thousand Island Salad Dressing
A favorite of my husband.
This tastes especially refreshing on a hearts of romaine, avocado, cucumber, and halved cherry tomato salad!
These are approximate measurements; the recipe can be tweaked to your own taste. It can also be used as the base to make chip/vegetable dip by adding it to sour cream.
Beat slowly in large mixing bowl. Makes nearly 1 quart.
Mix all together and refrigerate.
Beat eggs slightly, add sour cream, sugar, vinegar, mustard, spices, flour, and cook until smooth and thick. Remove from stove and add butter or margarine. May be thinned with milk or add some Miracle Whip. This is great with potato salad.
In large mixer bowl, combine sugar, mustard, salt, and vinegar. Slowly add oil and beat until thick. Beat 5 minutes more. Add poppy seeds and blend well. Makes 1 quart.
Mix together. Keep in jar in refrigerator.
Stir constantly while heating until thick, then let cool. Good on sliced tomatoes or salad.
Mix well and put in blender for a few minutes at high speed. Refrigerate. Makes 1 quart.
Mix thoroughly. May substitute horseradish mustard.
