Scenery: MacMillan Creek (Conesus, New York)
One of my favorite ATV riding areas is MacMillan Creek, Conesus NY. It is one of the many creeks, streams, and springs that feed Conesus Lake, the western-most "Finger Lake".
Looking for a Games and Chat Website
Yesterday, I stumbled upon a wonderful-looking games/chat website, like a fool did not bookmark it, don't remember the name, and now can't find it again. I've tried a Google search using the same search terms (as near as I can remember them), but can't find it.
Can I clean my fiberglass boat hull with Snow Bowl toilet cleaner?
This may have been an obvious thing to do for others, but when I saw a man at the gas station today with a swim toy using the air pump to fill it up, I was so happy to know my blowing up inflatable toy days are over!
Summer Activities or Games for Children
I'm looking for games, or some type of activities for my grandkids to do since school is out. I'm helping raise them and I need ideas for ages 5 and 11. Thanks so much.
I just bought a pontoon boat and it needs a bit of cleaning, but otherwise it is in great shape. It was docked under oak trees and the owner said that it was sap on the tops and edges of the seats from the trees.
Scenery: A Fisherman's Dream (Western NY)
I spent the first 18 summers of my life on a small, spring-fed bass/muskie/black bass lake in Western NY. When I need to relax, this is one of the pictures I bring to my mind.
Here my other half gives his new toy a try in the pool before going out into the ocean. Lots of fun!
Camping tips I've learned from years of camping in a tent at the race track!
Travel: Fishing at Sadlers Creek (Lake Hartwell, SC)
We were camping recently at Sadler's Creek State Park on Lake Hartwell, in SC. Hubby caught several fish, and the scenery from our campsite was beautiful.
When transporting fishing poles to fishing spot, you can keep the fishing hooks and lures from catching into something you don't want them too. Get a bottle cork and cut it in half or thirds. Now you can stick the hooks or fishing lures into the cork.
Scenery: Fishing Area (River Walk, Augusta, GA)
I was walking at River Walk, and saw all these fishing poles. The people fishing were enjoying the sunshine and not the least bit worried about catching a bite!
Fishing season is just around the corner. Pick up CD organizers that have separate compartments to store all your fishing rigs, sinkers, small lures, etc. They keep everything tangle free and easy to find.
Scenery: Kayaking the Natahala (North Carolina)
Driving along the Natahala River in Western North Carolina is a beautiful experience. I stopped to snap a few photos of the natural beauty and this kayaker came along. I thought her pink made a nice contrast of colors with nature!
Scenery: Horseshoe Trail (Mount Baker, WA)
My husband and son bundled up and took a winter hike on a cold day. Often hiking is more popular in the summer and fall months, but I think we forget how beautiful winter can be.
Homemade Cake for a Squirrel and Bird Feeder
I would like to know how to make squirrel feeder cakes.
Fill the worm box with pieces of corrugated cardboard, wet the chunks of scrap down good, let them stand for a couple of days, then put the worms in on top. The worms will burrow right down into the moist corrugations and live on the glue that's on the material.
In Alaska, we fish an awful lot during Salmon Season! Try this tip to keep your bait on the hook: cut tiny pouches from an old pair of pantyhose, place bait inside, and place securely on fishing hook. Works like a charm.
Make Hammock from Plastic Soda Rings
At our favorite camping spot, we've constructed a makeshift hammock out of plastic six-pack soda rings! It takes a little while to collect enough of these, but once you do, you can simply tie them together with thin fishing line.
Went for a photo excursion around the water, found these two fishing, and loved the background along with it.
My husband used to have his campers make these foil packets when he was a camp director. Now we make these when camping with the kids. It's a favorite; so easy to make and healthy too, which is good considering this is usually followed by s'mores for dessert.
Here is a quick and easy picnic that can be put together in no time and would be very easy to take to a local park or to an outdoor concert. Here in Colorado Springs, they have many free concerts in the park.
My Frugal Life: A Walk On The Wild Side
My wife and I were meandering down a well-worn packed dirt trail in the Lake Louise Area of our Canadian Rocky Mountains, when I noticed all was not forest green and wonderful in our leafy paradise.
Greening Up Your Sports Equipment
What is the environmental impact of your favorite sport? All of the energy and resources used to light the stadiums, heat the gyms, freeze the ice, mow the greens, and manufacture the clothing and equipment is hard to measure, and hard to control.
