Where Do You Let Your Dough Rise?Where do others put their sour dough starter to rise when the house gets cold at night? On top of the water heater is where I used to put it but, the new water heater feels cool on top. It is in a small pantry and may be warm enough but our house is allowed to cool to 65 at night. My last batch just soured and didn't turn out. I think I got it so hot that it killed the yeast because I put it on the hearth. Any help from you pros would be appreciated!

Preserving Pinecones?About 20 years ago my father-in-law climbed trees in California (he was 85 then) to get me some of the largest pine cones I had ever seen. I didn't ask and was willing to gather a few from the ground.
Why do Recipes Call for Both Water and Milk? Most of my bread machine recipes call for amounts of milk and amounts of water. Although I've been using only milk for awhile with good results I still wonder why those recipes use both. Does anybody know?
Using Shoe Polish On Leather Furniture?I have beautiful leather living room furniture in a dark reddish brown color. It was expensive and (I thought) good quality. I'm very careful with it and use leather cleaning products regularly. My husband's recliner has patches where the leather is "crinkling" as opposed to cracking.
Homemade Dry Soup Mix?Is there such a thing as a home made dry soup mix that a mother can prepare to send to college with boys who don't want to bother to cook good meals?
Information From "Quilt In A Day" Book?I had a quilting book by Eleanor Burns from her Quilt in a Day series that was all about the Log Cabin quilt. In our latest move I lost (or can't find) my book. Could someone please tell me how much fabric is needed to make a king size quilt. I can't remember if there are different measurements for different styles. Help me out if you can please.
