Befriend the Butcher and the Baker
If you use a lot of bread and/or meat it's a good idea to
ask the butcher and baker what time they put out discounted
items. If they are nice enough to tell you, you can plan
your shopping trips around it. Both meat and bread freeze
well so you can just thaw as necessary.

Wow, I hope no one else who lives in my neighborhood has read this tip or we'll have to arm wrestle over the meat. Thanks for the tip.
